shibui 渋 in japanese means beauty perfected in its simplicity。this variety is truly special: breathing in its aroma、you wish this moment could last forever。its taste is delicate、approachable and familiar。combined with water、it reveals notes of nuts and pumpkin seeds、with an umami aftertaste and a barely noticeable astringency。

this variety is suitable for preparing thin tea usucha and matcha-based drinks。

shibui — is a new matcha variety in our selection。created from tencha grown in the kyoto and kagoshima regions。it has a bright、almost sweet、grassy aroma that instantly transports you to sunny days in the mountains where yabukita bushes grow。

  • warm the chawan with hot water
  • sift 2g of matcha — approximately 2 chashaku into the chawan
  • add 80ml of water at 70〜80°C
  • whisk with a bamboo whisk — chasen for 30〜 seconds、moving it in the shape of the letter "w"

matcha 抹茶 — is the ground leaves of tencha — a Japanese green tea、which due to shading accumulates a large amount of the natural amino acid l-theanine、which has a scientifically proven positive effect on the body and nervous system。

2g of matcha contains 40〜70mg of theanine and 60〜70mg of caffeine、which together produce an effect of calm concentration and improve focus。
